Our story
About
We draw the designs, and a print shop makes each piece after you order it. That is the whole operation, and it is deliberate.
Komorebi is the Japanese word for sunlight scattered through leaves — light that arrives in pieces and then moves on. We took the name for that quality, not for a subject. The shop is not about any one thing.
What we do
We draw prints and put them on generic blanks — tees, hoodies, mugs. The designs are grouped into collections because a collection is an argument about what belongs together, and that judgement is most of what separates this shop from an endless grid of thumbnails.
The blanks are made by established manufacturers and printed to order by our production partners. We are not a workshop and we do not pretend to be one: what we make is the design. The manufacturer of each piece is named on its product page, with the full fibre composition and care instructions.
What we will not do
We do not run seasonal sales, and we do not chase trends. We do not make claims we cannot show you the paperwork for — which is why you will not find the word “sustainable” anywhere on this site, and why any certification we mention will come with its certificate number.
If a piece is not better than what you already own, we would rather you kept what you have.
Nothing is printed before someone asks for it, so nothing has to be thrown away when nobody does.
How it works
Four steps, no warehouse

You order
Pick the design, the piece and the size. Nothing exists yet at this point; the order is what starts it.

It gets printed
The design is printed onto the blank you chose, at whichever of our partners' shops can make it. Five to eight working days.

It ships to you
Straight from the shop that printed it. Tracking arrives by email.

You have 30 days
If it is wrong, send it back for any reason and we pay the postage. Made to order does not mean final sale.

No dead stock
Made to order means there is no unsold season to write off.

Every product page carries the garment's own measurements, not a generic chart.
