Wash cold, inside out, and dry flat in the shade. The print is water-based and settles into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it, so it lasts as long as the garment does. The less you wash it, the longer that is.

About this piece

The years show up. They leave without a trace.

An 8 oz cotton-poly blend with a double-lined hood, a front pouch pocket and ribbed cuffs that hold their shape. The portrait sits large and centred on the chest, clear of the pocket seam. The back is left clean. Three earth colorways, sizes S to 5XL.

The story behind Black Don't Crack

Black Don't Crack started as a compliment thrown across a room and never left. Melanin, spray-can lettering, a gold hoop catching the light — a portrait of someone who has been through it and does not carry the receipts on her face. The line is old. The drawing is not.

  • Air-jet spun yarn — softer hand, less pilling
  • Double-lined hood with matching drawcord
  • Quarter-turned body, no crease down the middle
  • 1 × 1 athletic rib-knit cuffs and waistband with spandex
  • Front pouch pocket; double-needle stitching at the collar, shoulders, armholes, cuffs and hem
  • Three colorways: Military Green, Sand, Ash — sizes S to 5XL
  • Blank garment sourced from Bangladesh, Nicaragua, Honduras or El Salvador
